It was a real treat to photograph at Battle Abbey in April this year. We hadn't had the opportunity before and it was a pleasure to be working with Victoria & Matthew for their big day.
The ceremony and Reception was in Battle Abbey School within the Abbey grounds. Victoria & Matthew had decorated the venue really beautifully with lots of medieval touches and masses of fresh flowers in purple and mauve. Victoria looked stunning with a fairy tale floor length gown with a low back and her Bridesmaids looked gorgeous in shades of purple. Matthew and his Groomsmen wore grey morning suits with fresh floral button holes. Everything coordinated beautifully.
The ceremony room was an amazing setting for the couple to say their vows and made for some truly great photos. Their was a trio of musicians playing for the guests and friends also sang at the ceremony. Soon Victoria walked down the aisle to Matthew and the ceremony went without a hitch with lots of lovely readings. Victoria & Matthew then walked out to showers of confetti and lots of fizz and canapés in the grounds of the Abbey.
We took the couple off into the Abbey grounds for some stunning shots after doing some more formal family shots. The speeches soon followed and were brilliant, really funny and entertaining and we had to remember to hit the shutter on the camera and not just listen and enjoy!
Victoria & Matthew had a cheese cake (seems very much the 'thing' to have so far this year at weddings!) as well as a traditional cake to cut and then took to the dance floor for their first dance. We had a fantastic day with Victoria & Matthew and wish them all the best for a life of happiness.
