We were back at Swallows Oast, Ticehurst in late June to photograph Sarah & Jack's gorgeous rustic, barn wedding. It was a bit of a misty, rainy day but this didn't dampen the mood and the day kicked off with Jason joining Sarah & her lovely Bridesmaids at her home for bridal preparation shots.
Sarah's bridal dress was nothing short of gorgeous with a deep V neck and sheer cap sleeves that went to a stunning drop back. The dress had a delicate lace overly and diamonte encrusted the V neck line. Sarah wore cute ivory ballet pumps which made for a nice twist on traditional bridal shoes and were no doubt much more comfortable! Sarah wore her beautiful dark hair long and flowing and with a diamonte tiara. She looked amazing! Sarah's Bridesmaids 'lucked out' with really lovely and up to date fitted light blue dresses that were sleeveless and had a kind of over lay top half and a fitted midi length skirt. They had white strappy sandals to finish the modern take on Bridesmaids attire.
Sam met Jack at the venue for some shots with him and his Groomsmen. Jack looked very sharp in a pale Grey slim fit suit & waistcoat with a pale blue tie and light pink Rose button hole. Jack's Groomsmen had matching suits and this completed the wedding party line up!
The ceremony room at Swallows Oast looked brilliant with lots of bunting hanging all around and flowers hung from the ends of the rows of chairs. The open flint and brick work in the barn adds to the rustic and cosy feel of this ceremony space. The ceremony was lovely and very heartfelt and soon the new Mr & Mrs walked back up the aisle and out to showers of confetti in the court yard garden directly out to the side of the barn. Welcome drinks and canapés were served here while Sarah & Jack mingled with their friends and family before we took them off for some private shots in the grounds and on to the woodland area that then goes out to open fields with stunning scenery - a perfect place for wedding photography!
The day progressed with lots more fun & laughter particularly during the speeches which were great - we had to remember to click the shutter and not just listen and enjoy! Soon Sarah & Jack cut their beautiful cake which was a three tier affair with bright orange icing flowers to the top tier and then iced bunting and pastel iced ribbon around the other tiers. Really unusual and effective.
The first dance was brilliant with stacks of white confetti paper falling from the ceiling! Again a photographers dream for getting great shots! We left Sarah & Jack partying the night away with their lovely family and friends to get home and get going on some editing to give them their Preview Wedding Gallery later that evening!
We had a great day and we wish Sarah & Jack all the very best for the future, which we have no doubt will be very rosey!
All the best
Jason
