Laughton Barns is a beautiful setting for a country wedding nestled in the lush Sussex Countryside and comprising several lovely barn structures with great facilities and staff. We were lucky enough to be photographing a lovely young couple, Lauren & Andy at this wedding venue.
On a beautifully clear and warm day at the beginning of July Jason went and met Lauren at her home for some bridal prep shots and Sam met Andy at the venue for some shots of him and his Groomsmen. Lauren was getting ready with her Mum and lovely Bridesmaids and cute Flower Girl. Lauren wore her hair loose and in soft curls and her dress was a simple, yet head turning dress in ivory lace with a slight sweetheart neckline and strapless. It fell in a fitted straight style with a pretty diamante belt to accentuate Lauren's waist. Her Bridesmaids looked gorgeous in pale dusty pink floor length gowns in chiffon. They all carried bouquets of summer flowers in pale pinks, ivory and yellow. The Flower Girl wore a white dress with a floral appliqué over lay on the top half and had the very important job of carrying the wooden heart with "Uncle Andy here comes your girl" on it and scattering the rose petals down the aisle!
Andy and his Groomsmen had matching dark Navy slim fit suits and ivory Rose button holes. They had socks depicting their roles for the day on them and all looked the business!
The ceremony was soon underway in the warm July sunshine out in the pretty barn licensed for civil ceremonies. Lauren arrived in an open top wedding car and looked nothing short of stunning walking up the aisle to meet Andy.
The ceremony went without a hitch and soon the couple walked back up the aisle as the new Mr & Mrs to cheers and showers of confetti courtesy of their friends and family.
The couple mingled with their guests for a little while before we took them off for a little walk and some private shots in the vast grounds at Laughton Barns with loads of amazing photo opportunities. We could have kept them busy for ages taking shots but they needed to get back and enjoy their day and continue greeting their guests so we let them go! Later we got on with a few group shots and then it was time to go into the wedding breakfast. Lauren & Andy had done such a fantastic job of decorating the barn - it looked so pretty. They had loads of twinkly lights around the beams and had gone for a rustic, vintage theme which totally suited the barn and its location. They had spent loads of time creating photo boards of both them as a couple and of their wedding party, who were clearly very special friends to them. We loved the boards of funny photos of the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen. Lauren and Andy had thought of every detail - thoughtful gifts for their wedding party with personalised labels, selfie sticks, a popcorn stand, a sweet cart, fun props for photos, outdoor games for the children and a huge bouncy castle (for the adults too of course!). It was brilliant and everyone was clearly having a great time.
The party continued into the evening with lots of dancing and further guests arriving to help celebrate. We had such a great day capturing their wedding and wish Lauren & Andy all the very best for an amazing life together.
